  LA PEAU DU MONDE | SÓNIA ANICETO
No centro, a TEIA. O corpo é omnipresente. Adivinhamo-lo através do que fora um “vestido” que se estende e invade o espaço como uma pele, uma rede de pescador. TEIA expande-se ora ordenada, ora aleatória, evocando um complexo topográfico imaginário, um território sonhado. Partilhado, conquistado, conhecido, reconhecido, apropriado, movimentado, familiar … tantos são os verbos que nos permitem “criar” território. Tantas formas de habitar o mundo que metamorfoseiam o ser.  Tal como o corpo, o território é um lugar geográfico, um espaço vivido, atravessado de afetos, um lugar de jogo e de simulacro.

 O território é acidentado e composto por dobras.  Os relevos costurados podem, em qualquer momento, escapar e      alargar o espaço para além dos limites do suporte.  A linha marca, mas o horizonte é vasto e anuncia um espaço sem      limites. A imaginação pontua as distâncias. Livre, o caminhante avança, contorna as fendas, caminha nas cristas e evita a queda. Não há pressa, o tempo está suspenso. 

Exposta pela primeira vez em Portugal, a TEIA é uma obra têxtil colaborativa,  “in situ” e proteiforme que tem vindo a evoluir desde 2017.
Concebida como uma reflexão sobre as ligações intergeracionais, trabalhada a quatro mãos, a TEIA evolui com a          contribuição da minha mãe. Pensada sobretudo, a partir da necessidade de reconexão, este projeto retece o cordão, alivia o meu desenraizamento e atenua a distancia.
Á partida autobiográfica, esta obra contém as bases temáticas do meu trabalho recente: o lugar e o corpo.

In the centre, TEIA. The body is omnipresent. We guess it through what was once a « dress » that extends and invades the space like a skin, a fisherman’s net. TEIA expand, either ordered or random, evoking an imaginary topographic complex, a dream territory. Shared, conquered, known, recognized, appropriated, moved, familiar … so many are the verbs that allow us to « create » territory. So many ways of inhabiting the world that metamorphoses the being.  Like the body, territory is a geographical place, a lived space, crossed by affections, a place of game and simulacrum.

The territory is rugged and composed of folds.  The stitched reliefs can, at any moment, escape and extend the space beyond the limits of the support.  The line marks, but the horizon is vast and announces a space without limits. The imagination punctuates the distances. Free, the wanderer advances, skirts the crevices, walks on the ridges and avoids the fall. There is no hurry, time is suspended.  

Exhibited for the first time in Portugal, TEIA is a collaborative, in situ and proteiform textile work that has been evolving since 2017.
Conceived as a reflection on cross-generational connections, worked by four hands, TEIA evolves with my mother’s contribution. Created out of a need for re-connection, this project ties the thread, eases my rootlessness and mitigates the distance.
Initially autobiographical, this work contains the thematic basis of my recent work: the place and the body.
