HYPERTEXTILE Textile residencies in Portugal 2025

HYPERTEXTILE is a cycle of learning, creation and research residencies in textile art aimed at visual artists and designers.
HYPERTEXTILE, an RPAC project (Portuguese Network of Contemporary Art), has a partnership with CAAA (Center for Art and Architecture Affairs, Guimarães), CAA (Center for Archeology and Arts of Beja – Beja City Council).
HYPERTEXTILE intends to create a Textile Art Network in Portugal that facilitates mobility, creation and research.
WHAT IS IT?
The cycle consists of 6 thematic residencies lasting two weeks each, which will welcome 20 participants throughout 2025.
A selection of the works will be part of an exhibition in 2026 curated by Antonia Gaeta.
The 2025 residences will be:
-Tufting
-Manual Printing and Natural Dyeing
– Embroidery
– Weaving

WHO CAN YOU PARTICIPATE?
The application is aimed at visual artists and designers of any nationality and age who show a significant interest (because they have already approached textiles or explicitly recognize their desire to do so) in acquiring training in the textile area with the aim of incorporating into your artistic practice.

 

WHAT ARE THE CONDITIONS?
Selected participants will have accommodation and work space, participation and training materials, critical monitoring and transport support (within Portugal).
