The face, through it, expresses our emotions, our memories, our connections. The eyes, which are said to be the mirrors of the soul, sometimes seem to reveal what escapes words.

In Jaky La Brune's works, these points of reference waver, gazes multiply, faces fragment, and bodies intertwine and transform. Jaky La Brune's practice is profoundly instinctive and cathartic. Through the intensity of her brushstrokes and the patient assembly of textiles, the repetition of which can take on an almost meditative dimension, the artist seeks to make visible the emotions and inner states that sometimes transcend the limits of language. Nourished by her numerous travels and encounters with different cultures, mythologies, and spiritualities, her works question what constitutes us: what makes us who we are? How is our identity constructed through experiences, beliefs, and the connections we forge with others?

Conceived as an inner garden, the exhibition embodies this ever-changing identity. Like a living landscape, each person is shaped by the encounters, joys, trials, and memories that mold our way of being in the world. Some experiences weaken us, others help us grow; all contribute to our evolution. This metamorphosis permeates the entire exhibition. Natural elements, such as the sky, clouds, water, and sun, coexist with a symbolic bestiary in which the butterfly holds a special place. A figure of transformation, it evokes both rebirth, freedom, and fragility. The family is also central to the reflections, seen as a structuring and complex entity. Finally, masks and textile dolls extend the figures in the paintings, giving them a physical presence.
The works then become spaces for projection where everyone can recognize a part of themselves, a mirror of our own questions.

Conceived as a vibrant and welcoming space, this new summer exhibition format offers a participatory environment blending documentation, sensory approaches, and workshops for both children and adults. The exhibition unfolds as a place for both experience and contemplation: an inner garden to explore, where the artworks invite us to embrace the complexity of our emotions and the plurality of our identities.
