The 729th Perdonanza Celestiniana scheduled for L'Aquila in August is an opportunity to reflect on the meaning of the sacred and its meaning in our time.
Twenty-three artists active on the national and international contemporary art scene have explored the role and identification of the sacred in a society devoted to fast lifestyle and which has made concrete and pragmatism associated with science, technology and to the economy its pivot, apparently abandoning all speculation and investigation on this territory suspended between the visible and the invisible which has nourished the spiritual and philosophical dimension of generations of intellectuals, theologians and mystics at least as much as it has shaped and punctuated the individual and collective daily life of each human community.
Does the sacred still exist in the age of artificial intelligence, of obsessive and compulsive communication dominated by information and images, where the boundary between real and virtual is increasingly blurred and uncertain?
