Du 10/11/2023 au 18/12/2023
▶️ Personal exhibition by Marie-Noëlle Deverre from November 10 to December 18, 2023 as part of the De Visu #6 program
“Through her different practices, Marie-Noëlle Deverre develops bridges that connect her imagination steeped in dreams to the embodied reality of the body, this fragile and malleable envelope, doomed to perpetual metamorphosis. »Samantha Deman, journalist.
The installation [To reemerge, made up of sewn papers and fabrics, is scalable. After being stamped, the mulberry fiber papers were crumpled, taking on the appearance of fabric. Then the paper works were volumed by sewing to become “portable sculptures” used for dance performances. Sometimes in the movement of the dance, some of these paper sculptures are slightly damaged. At each of the tears, a silk fabric is added to patch the work, highlighting the accident, as in the Japanese art of sashiko which enhances worn textile materials. The textile sculptures of the installation, in constant transformation, grappling with chance, also echo Rauschenberg's parachute canvases worn in Antic Meet (choreography by Merce Cunningham and music by John Cage). Dancer Katia Petrowick sets the works of To reemerge in a performance (see the film by Philippe le Guillou https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4dsfjcjrci8
