Women Pulling At Threads OF Social Discourse: don’t be absurd – fiber exhibition

The exhibition will explore the absurd with references to Franz Kafka, Albert Camus, Simone de Beauvoir, Jose Saramago, and/or Samuel Beckett. The artists will apply the ideas and concepts from these works to our modern world, in which industry and politics are still often dehumanized. Subthemes include, but are not limited to, childhood in industrial societies, sexuality, gender, women's rights, and education. We asked the artists to create circular fiber works to symbolize the continuity of hope in our current experience, as we strive to overcome a certain sense of nothingness.
