Nudibranchs, sources of inspiration for the series of works (sculptures but also soft toys), are underwater slugs. They take their name from their exposed external gills. These vital organs serve as a warning to their predators, who interpret their bright colors as a signal of venom. Just like their land counterparts, sea slugs are hermaphroditic beings. For several years, Lola Barrett has been developing this intimate narrative through the alter-ego of the nudibranch.
