La Licorne

This embroidered unicorn head is rooted in a mythological yet contemporary aesthetic. Inspired by Scotland, its legends and totemic figures, the work plays on verticality, transparency and the tension of the thread.

The embroidery, worked like an openwork structure, allows light to pass through and casts its own shadows. Black outlines the animal's skeleton, while gold reveals the horn and the eye, like two points of power and sacredness.

The artwork is delivered framed by a professional, placed between two panes of glass to preserve the fineness of the embroidery and to reveal the play of shadows which is an integral part of the piece.
