Installation: Root textile, cotton threads, curtain made from recycled and reclaimed fabric
Nature amazes me. I like to take the time to observe it. It is so strong and so fragile at the same time. Humankind's attitude towards it concerns me. However, throughout the creative process that accompanied this project, I was confronted with the fact that I myself was dominating it, which shook me every time. It was by relying on the concept of happy medium, either by avoiding extremes and limiting myself to the essentials, that I finally found peace.
In this project, the tapestries originate from the natural interweaving of oat roots. In some places, their paths have been diverted by various obstacles. The patterns created by these detours symbolize human intrusion, and the inserted threads represent, in turn, three elements of nature affected by it: water, air, and earth.
What if we simply took the time to contemplate it?
