En apesanteur – Eglise de la Gaillarde

We are in the choir of the Gaillarde church (76740) in Normandy, Christelle Balbinot has installed a wire sculpture made specifically in connection with the theme of the sea. She chose this place by imprinting a dynamic that is dear to her , that of the cast shadows that she will draw on the ground and the vault through a play of projected lights. We are not facing an object but rather in an environment and the circulation is fully part of the work in its design and its creation. Focused on a graphic dimension, this sculpture mobilizes our gaze, we feel weightless connected to this magnificent place.
His hand weaves the thread by encountering pareidolia that appear allusively: human or animal figures, rising flood of raging waves, atmospheric effects...
