Portulans Series, 2020 - 2024
In the Portulans series, Laura Sánchez Filomeno starts from the idea of the brevis and the cartographer's annotations to create an imaginary map, making us admire a scientific fiction. This piece is made up of embroidered nautical charts and a plexiglass half-sphere. Thanks to the transparency of the plexiglass, the hidden side of its embroidery is visible and we can see the hair sticking out, like hair covering our skin.
