Traversées

The work "Your dreams of crossings" evokes this quest for a better life, beyond the limits separating different territorial entities. The Mediterranean is the last moving frontier for all those whose last hope is to cross it; more than half of the disappearances occur in this intercontinental sea.
The pillow in the story, made from different materials (wood, stone, straw, feathers, etc.), is a sign of social status, used to correct or relieve problems of poor body posture during sleep, but it was also often placed under the heads of the deceased.
"Your dreams of crossings" constitutes an inventory, between a dream life for populations who have only one choice, that of following the paths of exile, trying to cross borders and the use of an object of daily life conducive to rest and daydreaming.
NB: Since January 2014 more than 37 people have died at sea.
