The “westlich.drin.pesönlich” still lifes have the theme of consumption and seduction. The apple, symbol of seduction of paradise, is for me today – candy wrappers.
Today, little treasures are spread to all corners of the world via freight routes, they lure us through the Internet to convince us to buy, even if we are several thousand kilometers away. They can be found on the anonymous shelves of gas stations, near the cash registers, at children's eye level.
Seductive packaging is purchased, unwrapped and thrown away.
In the series "westlich.drin.persönlich" I deal with motifs and themes from sweet packaging collected over many years. Based on the information provided by their manufacturer, I find them, locate them and return them to their proper place – “everything has its place”. The title is based on the what3words coordinate system.
