OPEN CALL-Miniature in Thread Technique-The Nest-Romania

The organizers of the « Miniature in Thread Technique – THE NEST » exhibition aim to bring together the community of artists from the field of decorative arts who create using the unfolding form of thread, in textiles as well as in ceramics, glass, metal, or mixed techniques.

The title of the exhibition, THE NEST, suggests multiple interpretations in the creation of an ingenious work. The exhibition will take place in partnership between the Union of Fine Artists of Romania and the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant from 3-27 October, 2024, in the Media Hall of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant.

RULES OF PARTICIPATION
– Theme: THE NEST
– Materials used: at the artist’s choice.
– A maximum of 5 artworks is allowed.
– The size of the work should not exceed 25 x 25 x 25 cm
– Selected artists will contribute a sum of 150 RON( 30€15)
This will be sent in the parcel along with the work and the home address for the return of the work.
The contribution represents the costs associated with the following sections: creation of the poster, the printed catalog, promotion, vernissage protocol, and other administrative expenses.
– The organizers have the right to use photographs of the artworks for the promotion of the exhibition without payment to the author.
– Works cannot be withdrawn during the exhibition.

TRANSPORT

– The round-trip transport costs will be borne by the artists.
–  The return of the works will be done by the organizers at the end of the event, with the payment on delivery at the address indicated by the artist.
– The works must be properly packaged.
– The organizers are not responsible for any damage or loss of works during transport.
– The parcel should be marked: no commercial value/for educational use. We are not responsible for improperly packaged works.
– The selected works will be sent by courier or personally delivered to the address that will be announced following the selection.
– The contact person and the corresponding phone number will be announced after the jury process.
– Artists residing in Bucharest may bring their artworks directly to the Media Hall of the National Museum of the Romanian Peasant, Șoseaua Pavel D. Kiseleff nr. 3, Bucharest, on October 1, 2024, by 16:00.

• Photographs of the works must be in jpg format, 300 DPI resolution.
• Under each photo, the following must be mentioned: the artist’s first and last name, the title of the work, the technique, the dimensions, and the year of creation.
• Please send only one photograph for each work.
